Z.ai (formerly Zhipu AI) is a Tsinghua University spin-out and CEO Zhang Peng’s public GLM lab. It was the first major foundation-model company to list, in Hong Kong in January 2026. GLM-5.3 is a 743B-class model; Flash is the quicker everyday cut.
